Every year, tens of millions of people in the UK rely on hand creams, yet the vast majority come in plastic packaging - much of which is difficult or impossible to recycle. While some plastic tubes are technically recyclable, many end up in landfill due to mixed materials, contamination, or the complexity of local recycling schemes. Even ‘recyclable’ plastics require consumers to clean and separate components, making proper disposal a burden that few have time for.

Beyond packaging waste, many hand creams also contain synthetic polymers like sodium polyacrylate and carbomer - usually plastics derived from petroleum. Why I love this

The BeautyPro Hand Serum is a nice little extra when my hands need some hydration. It absorbs quickly so I can get on with my day straight away. My hands do feel softer after using it and the scent is light and pleasant.

That said, it does have a slight stickiness at first, which isn’t my favourite, though it fades after a little while. It’s a nice product - a handy (pun intended) little boost when my skin needs a bit of extra care.

61/100 - Poor, but... I love the natural ingredients and super strong sustainability credentials of this face serum.

The biggest impact is the plastic pump and cap, and the supply chain could use more transparency, but this is such a great serum with effective ingredients (and made in the UK by a local brand, no less) that we just had to stock it! Let's champion the change to non-plastic caps.
